OUR JOURNEY

1995

  • Started Ambika Sishu Kendra, an Institute of Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Intellectual and Multiple Disabilities with affiliation to IICP. ( Offshoot of Hemchand Devchand Charities Trust established in 1968 )

  • Started Diagnostic Clinic, Out Patient Department, Neuro Clinic, Home based Training Program services.

1995

1996

  • Services for persons with Intellectual Disability.

  • Started Centre for Special Education.

1997

  • Establishment of Physio Therapy Unit.

1998

  • Early Intervention Unit added to the services.

1999

  • Formation of The Kurnool Parents' Association for Cerebral Palsy and Intellectually disabled Children.

2000

  • Became a Zonal Training Partner of Indian Institute of  Cerebral Palsy.

  • Resource unit for AIDS & APPLIANCES.

2001

  • Started services for individuals with Autism.

2002

  • Inauguration of free Homeopathy clinic along with free distribution of medicines.

2003

  • Started Vocational Training and Skill Development Unit with facilities for Employment/Livelihood aiming  at  Empowerment.

2007

  • Conducted a Master Trainer's Programme in Multi Category Resource Teachers Training - Inclusive Education in collaboration  with Sarva Siksha Abhayan - Andhra Pradesh 

2008

  • Started catering to the needs of Children with Multiple Disabilities and Low Vision.

2009

  • Moved to a three storey barrier free facility.

2010

  • Started Independent Living Unit.

  • Establishment of Sensory Integration Unit. 

  • Added Note books & File manufacturing as a part of Vocational Training and Skill Development Unit.

2011

  • Started In-House Catering for the students and staff by the individuals of Independent Living Unit.

2012

  • Started Screen Printing Unit as a Part of Vocational Training and Skill Development Unit.

2014

  • A multi-purpose barrier-free hall is added to the existing building making it a four-storied building with 5600 sq. ft in each floor. 

2015

  • Started services for individuals with Deafblindness. 

2016

  • Introduced Music Therapy.

2017

  • Started Workshops and Seminars by International Doctors and Professionals.

2018

  • Installed a Go-Green Solar power generation unit in the facility.

2019

  • Construction of new building for skill training unit and for teacher training center started.

2020

  • We completed 25 years of our journey and relaunched our website.

2021

  • Online workshop/training for staff and parents

2022

  • Launch of RCI Approved Course Diploma in Early Childhood Special Education.

2023

  • Launch of Second RCI Approved 2 years course -D.Ed.Spl.Ed (IDD)

  • Technical Meet with District Collector for Disability Certification Guidelines
