VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE AND SKILL TRAINING UNIT
Students, who may not be able to cope with main stream curriculum, enter the transition programmes. They are trained in
pre-vocational skills based on their potential, current abilities and need for support. Students with high support needs are trained in sheltered workshop settings. They are trained in making phenyl, liquid soap, paper bags, note books, file making, lamination, masala borugulu preparation, packing etc.
Functional Academics is an integral part of their curriculum and for their social and recreational needs, they have curricular activities like dancing, painting and sports.
Skill Training Unit of Ambika Sishu Kendra trains the children with disabilities in specific skills. It is a preparatory class for Vocational Training. The main focus of this Unit is to work on job-readiness for the young adults. Activities are taken up to improve-
